BOWLING INFO

Our bowling league is currently affiliated with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC)link opens new page.  The USBC officially launched Jan. 1, 2005, as the organization to serve amateur adult and youth bowlers in the United States.  It resulted from the merger of the American Bowling Congress, Women's International Bowling Congress, Young American Bowling Alliance and USA Bowling.

Adventurous Antiquaries

Adventurous - willing or eager to engage in adventures

Antiquary -
1. an expert on or a student of antiquities. 
2. collector of antiquities.

Are you interested in antiques, collectibles and interesting or unusual items?  Then why not join The Adventurous Antiquaries?  We explore shops and sites in the area.  We stop for lunch and if time permits, continue with our Adventure.  We take turns leading the outings.

Bowling

What:

We play a game in which balls are rolled at a group of objects (10 pins) with the aim of knocking them over.  We are a noncompetitive mixed league.  We have lots of fun meeting new people and enjoying the company of old ones.

 

When:

Tues, 9:20am.  We start bowling Sept 11, 2007.

Langley Bowling Center

 

Cost:

Fees are $16 for sanction fee and $11 per week to bowl.

Bridge

What:

A card game (usually with 52 cards) for four players who form two partnerships.   Each partnership tries to trick, trump, rubber, slam, chicane, the other.  We have lots of fun.  Please join us.

Bunko

 

Who:

What:

Bunko is a dice game.  It is a social game played with multiples of 4 people.  We have up to 20 regular players and we can always
use substitutes.

Day: 2nd Wed. of each month @ 9:30am

Night: 2nd Thurs. of each month @ 6:30pm

Both: We take turns hosting

Golf, 9-Hole

What:

A game in which each player uses a number of golf clubs to hit a small pitted ball into a succession of holes, usually 9 or 18 in number, situated at various distances over a course having natural or artificial obstacles.  The object being to get the ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible.

 

When:

Monday mornings, 10 a.m., weather permitting.

Tennis

 

Who:

Michelle Watts

 

What:

A game played between two players (singles) or four players (two players per team - doubles). You attempt to hit a hollow rubber ball covered with felt, using a ‘tennis’ racquet, over a net bouncing once into the opponents court, but in such a way the opponent cannot return same ball into your court.  This groups is for fun and practice, and is definitely not advanced!

 

When:

Michelle Watts is looking for people interested in starting a tennis group as a special activity. If you'd like to get together periodically to hit a few balls across (or into!) the net, contact Michelle.
